In professional environments the hand often gets used as an universal and precise cooking tool. In a private environment this mostly is only possible with the use of the "cooking glove", because in most cases the user isn't used to endure the high temperatures.

A Teflon coating protects the fingers from getting burned. Simple washing of ones hand cleans the glove. For turning around bigger parts of food an additional scraper can be used.
